DIY or Get someone else to do it!

Ever since I was a young fella, I was always building stuff. If it's damaged, broken or needs an upgrade I would give it ago. I made many a mistake! but as we say..."Ya won't make it a second time.".

Before I went into hairdressing I worked on building sites, assisting the trades people. It's amazing what ya pick up along the way. From concrete screeding to water-proofing school roofs, I watched and learnt a lot from these experts. I say to my boys as they grow, 'The More you do it the better you get at it'. And this is so true. You witness some people in factory environment's, assembling products with rapid speed and each time, Perfection! The same can be said about hairdressing, weather it's high-lighting or cutting. 'Some' just get better and better at it. Shame not all homme their skills.

There is always something to be done in the salon and I enjoy doing this myself. But! the point of this blog this evening is to encourage you guys to put your hands in your pockets and spend money on an expert in what it is you need done. Ask around. Go look at their work. And book them for when they are free. You will really see the difference. These guys have years of experience behind. It might take them only minutes to do it but it's done right and looks great. I see low resolution videos & images on websites. Uploaded by salon owners who build their own sites online. Doesn't look well. Go to the best and you'll get the best. Stick to what you do best. On less you happen to be really good at whatever it is you need done. On saying that I still think you should spend your time on other things. Family. Stop skimping, ya can't take it with you ;)
